Scale and Productization
Take the learnings from innovation, analyse the generated metrics and build a scalable product from it. Identify functionality, build it as component and combine them to re-usable templates.
Components
I developed custom components for the Stores Builder that, like standard components (Hero image, video, ASIN grid, etc.), required no technical expertise. I designed and implemented components such as the 'Video Reveal' (a short clip autoplaying before displaying the page) to support multiple verticals.
If we for example are looking at movie releases, the main KPIs are trailer views and ticket sales. Thus me and my team created an `Entertainment Hero` component. Besides a background video, the movie title plus logo, this component featured up to two configurable CTAs, which can launch a video, link externally, or help users find cinema tickets (which launched another component called 'Cinema Finder').
Immersive Film Release (IFR)
One of the templates we created was the IFR. We combined multiple components to create a template that became very popular with entertainment brands who wanted to advertise their theatrical release. A video intro of up to 6 seconds ('Video Reveal'), a header component that meets the main KPIs of trailer views and ticket sales ('Entertainment Hero'), plus a 'Showcase' component that allowed for character introduction and synopsis.
Product Selector
We built so many custom product selectors, that it became a running joke within the team. Despite different approaches, they all served the same purpose: narrowing down results by answering a few questions. Whether finding the right LEGO Christmas gift or a Hasbro product, the product selector provided recommendations. Although it requires users to read and click through options, it remains a highly requested feature.
Interactive Timeline (Warner DC)
Studios like Warner have more than just one big release per year. My team created an evergreen, always-on solution to promote new releases and aid discovery of DC's lines of business across Amazon and Prime Video. Including theatrical, home entertainment, video games and consumer products.
The main goal was to create an easy to update but at the same time beautiful and exciting solution. We divided the solution into a main hub for new releases and detail pages for individual release information. The generated learnings fed directly into the 'Immersive Film Release' product and created new opportunities with other studios.
