Innovation at Amazon Ads
Imagine all the unprecedented access to Amazon's portfolio canvas. My team used that access to solve brands' strategic challenges by innovating on behalf of our shared customers. If we came up with ideas that didn't exist, we built it.
Live Streaming
Demand for live streaming solutions grew as Samsung and other electronics brands led the way with flagship product launches. Other industries, like Bacardi, also embraced Amazon Ads' live streaming service, as shown in the live whisky tasting experience me and my team created. See a Forbes Article for further details.
Since Amazon Live is an US only product, I started implementing an own live streaming product in the EU: I introduced AWS' IVS (Interactive Video Service) as live streaming solution product for Amazon Ads with a three-phased approach including pre-live to live and post-live phases.
I created countdowns and NotifyMe for the pre-live phase, experimented with Q&A and live product reveals during the live phase. We also introduced a recorded Video on Demand (VOD) version post-live. These insights, combined with shoppable videos, led to the Live Storefront product for the LEGO Girls campaign, where influencers and mothers engaged with LEGO products while customers could browse and shop.
NotifyMe
Brand required a solution for the pre-live phases of the live streaming service to give engaged customers the chance to re-activate their interest for the live phase. Therefore I introduced a NotifyMe notification functionality: logged in customers may opt-in to receive a notification via Amazon's outbound notification system (first via email, currently working on a push notification).
Prototyping a chat
In almost every case where we built a live streaming campaign concept, the client asked for an additional chat. For good reasons: direct Q&A, extending the customer trust, getting in direct contact with the brand's most loyal customer base amongst others. After much doc writing, feature requirement and problem anaylsis, I created multiple wireframes and finally a high fidelity version of a chat prototype including moderation functionality (kicking and banning a user, system messages, etc..).
Prototyping for FireTV
FireTV is a plattform with limited capabilities since there are many diverse devices with a high range of computing power on the market. Naturally we still experimented and created some nice experiences. I had to work resource-saving minimalistic (e.g. use webp image format).
I experimented with an automotive execution for the EU market: a 360 degree car viewer (iternal and external view) and car configurator (colors and rims) which led to production for multiple car brands in EU.
